About me

Miguel Escobar

Born and raised in Panama City, Panama. I’m currently a Program Manager at Microsoft for the product that changed my life: Power Query.

Before this Program Manager role, I was the Principal Consultant and President of my own company based in Panama called Powered Solutions which was a Microsoft Gold Partner in Data Analytics for many years.

On a more personal note:

• I come from a more ‘business’ focus background and never had any formal studies related to IT.
• My first tool of choice was Excel 2010 using Pivot Tables during my first few jobs – I then switched to PowerPivot in 2011 and have been using the “Power” tools since then in Excel and Power BI.
• I was awarded the Microsoft MVP award for a total of 6 years before joining Microsoft
• I’m the co-author of the books M is for Data Monkey and Master your Data.
• Besides Powered Solutions, I was also the co-founder and owner of the Skillwave project (fka PowerQuery.Training).

Note: Unfortunately my job means I cannot respond to the large number of requests for help I receive through this blog. If you have a technical question, please post your question on a forum as me and the Microsoft team do monitor these channels.
